When you arrive in the Suncoast Radiology Department, you will be asked to be seated until the room to be used for your examination is available. Depending on the type of study you are to have, you may be asked to change into a gown so that no buttons, snaps, or metal will interfere with the examination. If you are to have skull or sinus X-rays, you will be asked to remove dentures, hairpins, earrings, or glasses.
After the technologist has completed your studies, you will be asked to return to the reception area to give the technologist time to assemble your films and examine their quality. If no additional films are needed, you will be informed that it is all right to return to the clinic that requested the examination.
A radiologist will interpret your studies and report the results to your doctor, who in turn will discuss them with you.
