ALS Clinic:

The Suncoast ALS Clinic is one of only three clinics in Florida offering holistic care for patients and families with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, otherwise known as "Lou Gehrig's Disease."

Our multidisciplinary team comprised of neurologists, pulmonologists, neuropsychologists, physical therapists, speech therapists, occupational therapists and registered nurses meets with the patients and families to evaluate and discuss treatment options aimed at improving the quality of life for those with ALS. The clinic is affiliated with Bayfront Medical Center and the Tampa Bay Chapter of A.L.S.A.

Comprehensive Epilepsy Program:

The Bayfront Medical Center Comprehensive Epilepsy Program is a regional referral center for the evaluation and treatment of epilepsy and seizure disorders. Heading up the center is Suncoast physician Erasmo A. Passaro, MD, who has performed video-EEG monitoring in more than 1,000 patients and has been involved in the epilepsy surgery of morethan 200 patients with medically refractory epilepsy. He is nationally recognized for his work and experience in epilepsy.

Clinical Trials:

Founded in 1990, Suncoast Neuroscience Associates, Inc. is an independent research center with a team of four physician investigators (three neurologists, one psychiatrist), two full-time, certified clinical research coordinators, and a full-time nurse. Neurological and psychiatric phase II, III, and IV trials are conducted at the center.

Located within Suncoast Medical Clinic, the research center's convenient downtown St. Petersburg location helps coordinators facilitate exposure to large populations of potential patients who might benefit from clinical trial participation.

Suncoast Neuroscience Associates has worked with 28 sponsors, successfully performing more than 40 studies, focusing on dementia, migraine, Parkinson's disease, back pain, peripheral neuropathy, depression, mania and psychosis, to name a few.
