Westervelt, M.D. is the latest in a long list of highly credentialed physicians to join the Suncoast team and will start practicing in May. A general surgeon, Westervelt is nationally recognized in laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgical techniques. “We are extremely pleased to welcome Dr. Westervelt to our team of physicians at Suncoast Medical Clinic,” says Steven R. Dr. Westervelt comes to St. Petersburg from Surgical Associates Southern in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Westervelt is a graduate of Siena College, and received his M.D. from the State University of New York Syracuse with Honors in embryology, pediatric surgery and surgical nutrition. He served his internship at Tulane University Medical Center, his residency at Brookdale Hospital Medical Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. and his fellowship at the University of Louisville.
